How do I insert text, images, links and files into a page?
When editing a page on your website, you can insert text, images, hyperlinks and files using the editor toolbar shown below:
Body text and headings
Body text (paragraphs)
Simply click and type in the 'Content' box. Pressing enter will create a new paragraph. Use the toolbar to style the text with bold, italic, alignment, bullets and so on.
Headings and subheadings
For headings, use the 'Format' drop-down to automatically style your headings consistently with the rest of your website. On the toolbar, this is the second drop-down from the left.
As the 'Heading 1' style is already used as the main title on pages of your site, everything within this page will be 'Heading 2' or lower. To apply a heading, click anywhere on your text and choose the appropriate heading style from the drop-down menu.
To insert a hyperlink, enter your text, select it, and then click the icon. You can also insert a hyperlink onto an image instead of text.
To edit a hyperlink, click anywhere on your link (the text or image) and then click on the same icon.
To remove a hyperlink, click anywhere on your link (the text or image) and then click the 'Unlink' icon (next to the icon).
To insert an image into your content, click where you'd like to insert it, then click on the icon in the editor toolbar. This will open a window to choose and preview the image.
To choose the image, click on the square icon at the end of the 'Image URL' text box, as shown in the image below:
You can then browse for your image on the website, or upload a new one. Once you've selected your image, click on the 'Insert' button to return to editing the page. Your image should now appear in the Content box.
To edit an image's properties or change to another image, click on the icon again.
To delete an image, click on it and press delete on your keyboard.
Tip: You can also upload and manage your images, including some image editing functions such as crop and rotate, before you add or edit a page using the Image Manager.
You can insert links to files using a similar method to inserting images and hyperlinks. Create your text, such as 'Download our brochure', select it, then click on the icon.
To choose the file, click on the square icon at the end of the 'Link URL' text box, similar to the image above. You can then browse for your file on the website, or upload a new one. Once you've selected your file, click on the 'Insert' button to return to editing the page. Your text should now be linked to the file.
Tip: You can also upload and manage your files before you add or edit a page using the File Manager.
