FAQs


How do I add and edit news on my website?

Depending your website setup, you may have access to a news system. It can be found under the 'Content' menu. Instructions on adding and editing news can be found below.

Adding news items

  1. Go to the 'Content' menu then 'News'.
  2. At the bottom of the page, click on 'Add Article'.
  3. Enter the Title. This is usually 10-12 words maximum.
  4. Enter the Summary (optional). This is usually one sentence about the news item (such as the first sentence from the full article).
  5. Enter the Content. This is where the main news content is added, including images and links. (Working with text, images, links and files)
    • Wherever possible, enter news items directly into this box rather than creating it in Word then copying/pasting.
    • While fonts can be modified, for consistency it's best to use the default settings.
  6. At the bottom of the page, choose a Post Date (default is today).
  7. You can also choose an expiration date, and the news item will disappear from the site once this date is reached. This might be handy for upcoming events or other items with a specific end date. Otherwise the item will show forever (recommended for search engine benefits).
  8. Click on 'Submit' to save and return to the list of news items.

Editing news items

  1. Go to the 'Content' menu then 'News'.
  2. At the bottom of the page, click on any existing news item to edit it.
  3. Follow the above instructions on 'Adding news items' (point 3 onwards).
